Kelvin Grove Museum

This was shot with my Canon S95 a while ago. It has been post-processed by running it through Photomatix HDR software plus various tweaks to the colour temp and exposure - plus it's an unusual view of the Kelvin Grove Museum - this is the back, taken from Glasgow University.
I like the end result, but I wasn't too enamoured with the original.

Your mileage may vary :-)
Enjoy.

Flowering

This idea about capturing the stages of a flowers blossoming popped into my head when I saw the different stages of flowering of each of the bunch.
Here's the end result:

Here's the setup photo:

The Pringles can is a strip-light that I made.
There are some things I would do differently next time, but I didn't have time to do them today as the bunch of flowers was for someone else and wasn't staying here :-(
I would make the background darker, forget about getting the vase in shot, fill the frame with the flower head and make the light a bit less intense on the right hand side.
Anyway, that's for next time. Or I suppose I could bring my wife a bunch of flowers.....

Shot Glass

I have been working inside lately, producing not very much of interest - but I was playing around with photographing glass in response to something I read on the net.
Here's the finished photo:

It took about an hour to light it the way I wanted it, and I am not very happy with the final arrangement, so I will definitely be revisiting shooting glass again.
Here's the set-up I used:

Parking Heroes - ongoing

OK, it’s weird.
Now that I have started to pay attention to these inconsiderate, ill-mannered parking heroes, they seem to be presenting themselves to me more frequently.
Another example.
A water picture

This one I find hypnotic. The water is not smoothed out to become milk like you see in some landscapes. IMHO, it does convey movement.

One of an ongoing series of inconsiderate, selfish and just down right ill-mannered acts.

If you can’t drive it properly, then don’t.

A sign for the loquacious?
